I picked up a wireless mouse on our shopping run today, after years of dealing with tangled mouse cables. While installing Logitech’s software, I noted that it requires 42 megabytes of hard drive space. In comparison, the first PC I remember having at home was a 10 MHz 386 with a 40 megabyte hard drive.

Actually it was a 286. And I’ll bet the mouse will work without installing the software.

It probably will, but I don’t think I can program all the buttons then. I’ll try it on the other laptop without the software.

I can’t imagine what the 42 megs are for when the device is surely plug-and-play. Even to program a couple buttons doesn’t seem like a 42 meg need.
